If you want to find out more, we will be happy to talk to you about Osteopathy.

What you should expect

If you think you may need to see an Osteopath you do not need to see your doctor first, you will be examined before treatment.

Upon your initial appointment you can expect a full medical assessment, examination and treatment. This will include questions regarding your health, injuries and your day to day routine.

A physical examination is then performed (mostly by hand) to identify and assess the area of discomfort. You may be asked to change to your underwear; ensure you are wearing something comfortable as your posture and alignment may offer clues to the presenting symptoms.

All of this information will assist the Osteopath to reach a diagnosis and identify if further investigation is required.

Treatment is based on soft tissue massage, joint articulation and mobilisation.

A friend or relative may accompany you if desired

Appointments are available with Male or Female Osteopaths, please ask if you have a preference when booking.

Our Osteopaths have completed four to five years training for an undergraduate degree. As required by law, our osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopathic Council and British Osteopathic Association. The Council has a strict code of ethics for its members to adhere to and only allows professionally trained practitioners on their register.
